Strategic Institute for Public Health Education & Research (SIPHER) has been relentlessly working on public health issues of relevance since its inception. The institute takes keen interest and proactive steps to tackle challenges related to violation of public health laws at appropriate platforms. The institute is contributing towards tobacco control in India by raising awareness, capacity building and research. My best wishes.
Strategic Institute for Public Health Education & Research (SIPHER) is a premier institute focused on creating a specialized public health workforce that will be able to tackle emerging public health challenges. The institute specializes in high-impact tobacco control advocacy but has also organised several physical as well as virtual workshops and consultations on various subjects including Non-communicable diseases. SIPHER’s unique strength in bringing together multiple stakeholders including researchers, academia, government and civil society will contribute phenomenally to strengthening public health response in the country.
I am privileged to write the testimonial for SIPHER led by Dr. Rakesh Gupta. SIPHER has been doing extraordinary work in the field of TOBACCO CONTROL. SIPHER has been bringing all the stakeholders together to gather the momentum to curb tobacco use. SIPHER joined hands with ICanCaRe in promoting tobacco cessation amongst Health Care professionals and workers. Their work controlling e-cigarettes is remarkable.I look forward to continuing to work with SIPHER toward the tobacco endgame.
SIPHER as an Organization and Public Health Institution is doing a unique job of Public Health Education and Skill based Capacity Building towards System strengthening .During Pandemic and Post Pandemic times a Civil Society Organization like SIPHER would also be vital for tobacco control, Prevention and Control of Non Communicable diseases and TB Elimination. With Inherent Leadership SIPHER will make a great impact on Public Health initiatives .
The Strategic Institute for Public Health Education & Research (SIPHER) is an authority in organization of the public health priority activities. I have been attending various conferences which benefited me mostly in planning regional activities. Recently No Tobacco Association Nagpur has taken a drive promoting the Prohibition Of Electronic Tobacco Act 2019 and all the technical support was given by SIPHER. This movement which started at Nagpur spread throughout India which generated lot of public attention and police authorities and many offences were registered against offenders. I on behalf of No Tobacco Association Nagpur wish the SIPHER all the very best.
SIPHER is tackling the problem of hypertension, an upcoming epidemic in Punjab in collaboration
with PGIMER Chandigarh and GHAI. In a short time of 5 months of the project it has already
organised Events on World Heart day, workshops and consultations for advocacy and awareness
about the risk factors and the complications related to Hypertension.
SIPHER has taken a very relevant issue for discussion on International Women’s Day. Tobacco is a big menace for the health of each of us. Women should be empowered to take part in removing this menace which affect their lives. Our NGO sahayata is targeting school children for awareness regarding HARMFUL EFFECTS OF tobacco. TAKING PART IN THIS WEBINAR HAS BEEN VERY ENRICHING EXPERIENCE.
Civil society organizations play a significant role in the development of society. SIPHER has been taking up crucial public health issues for discussion, promotion and follow up with appropriate stakeholders. In partnership with the Department of Community Medicine and School of Public Health, PGIMER Chandigarh, SPIHER is reaching national and global audiences. I wish them the very best.
“I have been connected with the Strategic Institute for Public Health Research since its inception. I have been following their activities and have often collaborated with them through participation in their consultations, webinars etc. Their activities cover a wide range of public health topics and they choose cutting-edge topics. SIPHER invites and is able to secure the participation of the most appropriate individuals from the government as well as non-government sectors in their activities. What impresses me is that they don’t stop after organizing an event, they continue with careful follow-up actions. They send conclusions, recommendations, position statements etc. to appropriate authorities. Through their work and actions, SIPHER has helped a great deal in advancing thinking about public health policies and bringing about changes. I wish them further success in their work.”
I consider myself very privileged to have been connected with SIPHER from its inception. It has taken off so swiftly with all its activities like webinars and consultations. It is awesome the way it has covered so many different aspects of tobacco control, NCDs and public health in such a short time. It does all the activities very comprehensively and inclusively. It has established collaboration with many professional groups and societies including universities and has also showcased many professionals from other disciplines that can contribute to advancing tobacco control and public health. The day is not far when it will be singled out as one of the fast- (INWAT) Behavioural Scientist growing organizations. I wish it a continuous elevation.
The SIPHER is providing exemplary leadership to the country on various public health issues, especially on various aspects of tobacco control to transform it to be more effective and impactful. Its collaborative working with all the stakeholders makes it unique among the contemporaries. I am hopeful that its leadership and the team SIPHER will sustain working with the spirit it has currently to keep advancing the agenda of public health to SAVE LIVES through better health. I feel privileged to be associated as its honorary member. On this occasion, congratulating Dr. Rakesh and the team, I wish all very best to the SIPHER to grow and grow exponentially in coming years as THE VOICE to be heard and followed.
